FESTIVAL SURVIVAL KIT
THINGS TO HAVE ON YOU AT ALL TIMES
- WATER
- A cup
- A non-meltable snack
- Sunscreen, sunblock, lip balm
- Sunglasses, eye drops
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Long sleeved cotton shirt or jacket
- Band-aids, moleskin, basic first aid
- Pen, pencil, or marker, and paper
- Cash
- Condoms and other such things?
- Small sealable receptacle or bag (to corral your trash or pick up trash you see blowing around)
- Mints or some such
- Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss
- Decent shoes. The ground can be rocky and it will be all too easy to stub a toe or trip over a rock.
- Clothes. Being nude in public is considered a violation of tribal regulations.
SLEEPING
It can be surprisingly cold at night. Be prepared with extra blankets and warm jammies or a cold-rated sleeping bag.
CLOTHING
It can get cold at night at Pyramid Lake in May, so bring layers to wear in the brisk to cold desert Spring nights.
SHELTER
Keep easy-to-steal/sell valuables locked up and out of sight.
If you are planning on sleeping in your vehicle, use a couple of reflective windshield shades to keep out the heat during the day: this makes for cooler sleeping and more privacy.
Bring a variety of rope in different sizes: twine, heavy nylon, lightweight poly, etc. Mark your structure's ropes and lines with flashers, xmas lights, or reflective ribbon so people wont trip over them.
Get colorful old flat (not fitted) sheets from the thrift store. These are great for all kinds of things, like creating shade and color in your camp. Tie each corner into a knot; then, run rope from the corner to tie the sheet up.
Bring something to cover the ends of your stakes and rebar: Tennis balls and stuffed animals make good protectors.

- Bulk water in bulk water containers (at least one gallon per person per day)
- Temperatures may be variable this time of year. Check the forecast but also bring clothes for all kinds of weather.
- Extra socks
- *Unscented* biodegradable soap and wet wipes
- Coolers
- Simple, easy to fix finger foods.
- Shade cloth and structures
- Graywater collection in the form of containers or an evaporation pond
- Trash Bags to gather and pack out your own trash, recycling, and compost
- Solar shower
- Kitchen and cooking solutions
- Chill spaces
- Signs, decorations, and stuff to express your camp and recognize it at night
- Tent, sleeping bag, and padding
